TRIP OFFERINGS
For the 2022 season, Samurai Sportfishing through J&M Sportfishing will offer the following trips:
SAMURAI TRIP OFFERINGS:
9hr Coronado Islands
12hr Offshore
12hr Extended Offshore
12hr Swordfish
Spiny Lobster Trips
Trips will be targeting Tuna, Yellowtail, Dorado, Rockfish, & other Pelagic species depending on trip length and location of the fish, with emphasis on Trophy Blue Fin Tuna. All trips have a 4-6 passenger max. Lobster/Swordfish trips will have a 4 passenger max.
Trips are charter ONLY.

DAY TRIPS:
9hr Coronado Islands $2200
Coronado islands targeting Yellowtail, Yellowfin, Calico, Rockfish,
Dorado etc.
7:00am Departure
6 Person Max
12hr Offshore up to 60 miles $3400
7:00am Departure
**Possibility of nighttime departure depending on the bite
These trips will be targeting Yellowfin, Bluefin, Yellowtail, Bonita, Skipjack,
Dorado, Barracuda etc., but with emphasis on Trophy Blue Fin Tuna
5 Person max
12hr Swordfish Charter $3400 (4 Person Max)
Deep drop fishing for Swordfish at depths between 1,000-1,600ft using 2 Deep Drop rods at once (buoy line & a tip line) and electric assist reels.
7:00am Departure
12 Hour Extended (Beyond 60 miles offshore)
Additional add on to the 12hr trip for $500 to outer banks if fish move out
*Can be added same day
5 Hr Spiny Lobster Trip $900 (Charter Only with a 4 Person Max)
Local trip targeting Spiny Lobster consisting of setting and pulling traps
**Trip departs at 5:00PM**
Must have a Spiny Lobster Report Card in addition to a CA Fishing License
We also offer Whale/Dolphin Watching Year Round!
6hr Whale/Dolphin Watching Charter $1400 (Samurai)
Targeting Humpbacks, Fin Whales, Blue Whales, Gray Whales, Dolphins, Porpoise, and various species of pelagic seabirds and Pinnipeds
Departs at 7:00am
2pm Afternoon departures are an option as well
We have many years of experience in the whale watching industry! Our parent company is http://discoverywhalewatch.com out of Monterey, CA and our crew is very experienced and highly knowledgeable in this industry!
FISH CLEANING
Fish cleaning will be handled on a trip by trip basis. Fish will be filleted by the crew or you will be sent to the fish processing center just a short drive away, depending on size and quantity of fish. Card or cash can be accepted for both. If paying per person and the deckhand is filleting, only cash will be accepted.
All anglers will need a California Fishing License and possibly Mexican Fishing Permits and/or Coronado Island Bracelets.
Permits and licenses must be purchased prior to the start of the trip and Samurai Sportfishing will reach out to you 1-2 days before your trip to let you know which if any specific permits are needed and how to get them purchased, but all anglers will need to possess a California Fishing License regardless of location. Physical copies of licenses and permits MUST BE BROUGHT ONBOARD. Licenses can be purchased through H&M Landing, please be sure to bring proper ID. You will need to bring your passport if fishing in Mexican waters.
SAMURAI-All gear and bait is included in the price (detailed info about the gear can be found in the “About” section).
KAHUNA-Individual rods/gear (not included) can be rented and/or purchased at the shop at H&M Landing & bait is included in the price. A variety of top notch gear such as Kite Gear will be onboard.
If bringing your own gear be sure to bring multiple setups.
FOOD/DRINK
Beer/Wine may be brought onboard the vessel. Waters, non-alcoholic drinks, coffee, and snacks are included. Feel free to bring any sandwiches or other food items onboard that you wish to have. The vessel does have a microwave.
WHAT TO BRING
Sunscreen/other sun protection is highly recommended
If concerned about motion sickness we recommend taking seasickness medication at least 30 mins prior to departure. There are usually pills available at the shop located at the landing
While we do have blankets onboard, please bring your own blanket/pillow for overnight trips
Light snacks, sodas/waters, coffee will be provided onboard, please bring any other food you think you might need during the duration of your trip
All passengers onboard must possess a valid fishing license
While all gear and tackle are provided, you are welcome to bring your own. Be sure to bring multiple setups
